Sharing stories from our beloved LBIS/TLC/TEF family. We hope it is an opportunity to see the work God is up to and help you remain connected to this broad, deep, and beautiful community

Our story of calling comes from Rev. Keith Marshall.

Keith graduated from Trinity Lutheran College in 2002 with a BA in Youth and Family Ministry.

"Trinity Lutheran College, formerly LBI, was not just a place I attended; it was a community that gave me space to be transformed. It was there that I learned the value of asking deep questions and sitting with the unknown. It was there that I began to understand that faith is not static but a living, growing relationship with God and with others. Trinity offered a rhythm of worship, learning, and service that shaped me in ways I am still discovering.

One of the greatest gifts Trinity gave me was a deep grounding in Scripture and the central story of our faith: the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through classes, conversations, and chapel, I was immersed in the Word and invited to see how Christ’s love and grace meet us in every season of life. That foundation continues to shape my preaching, teaching, and how I lead in the church today.

What stands out most about my time at Trinity is the freedom I was given to wrestle with my beliefs, to explore my gifts, and to be surrounded by people who saw something in me even when I did not yet see it in myself. Professors, staff, fellow students, and ministry opportunities all played a role in helping me discern who God was calling me to be. I can draw a direct line from my time at Trinity to my calling now as Bishop. For that, I will always be grateful."

Keith's bishop installation is:
